The 17th Istanbul Biennial is on view between 17 September - 20 November 2022. Curated by Ute Meta Bauer, Amar Kanwar and David Teh, the projects of the participants from different parts of the globe and from various disciplines, while spreading to several places across two continents of the city, aim to be a meeting point that works to find solutions to similar problems, nurture and strengthens the interactions and produce long-term impact.
All projects are the result of a long-term research and cooperation and answers the questions such as “Can the biennial be a newspaper? Can it be a redesigned archive? Can it be a sea of announcements flowing through everyone like water? Can it be a meeting where insights from ancient songs, birds, grasses, fish, buffaloes are shared?”
Since 2011, the participation of artists from Turkey is supported by SAHA and the accommodation of biennial artists and curators are supported by SAHA Residency in Galata, Beyoğlu. On the other hand, SAHA Studio, as one of the participants and venues of the 17th Istanbul Biennial, opens its doors for artist archives and studios to visitors every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the biennial.
