SAHA provides grants for 10 artists and curators from earthquake-affected regions to participate in the summer camp held on 17 – 23 July 2023 in Nesin Art Village, supported also by SAHA Sustainability Fund throughout the year 2023. Together at the Threshold - Artists, Curators aims to provide time and space so that young artists and curators can work together and learn from each other, open communication opportunities for sustainable relationships and discuss issues in the field together. To support participants in developing their projects, exhibitions and applications for grants and residencies, curators Çelenk Bafra of SAHA, Ezgi Bakçay, Bige Örer of Istanbul Biennial, Öykü Özsoy of Istanbul Modern, and SAHA Studio resident artist Evrim Kavcar in collaboration with Elif Öner will give lectures and run workshops coordinated by Işın Önol.
About Nesin Art Village
Nesin Art Village (NAV) is an innovative art program that was launched in 2015 by the alternative education initiative developed at Nesin Mathematics Village (NMV). NMV is located at Şirince-İzmir and was established in 2007. NAV aims to maintain an approach that focuses on criticality and independent production processes. It offers a learning environment for young people from around Turkey, through workshops and seminars to be carried out by artists, academicians, writers, and curators.
