SAHA Talks: Fight like a girl |Gözde Mimiko Türkkan

On Wednesday, April 30 at 6:00 pm, Gözde Mimiko Türkkan will give a talk at SAHA Studio about her project, Fight Like a Girl / Pelea Como Una Chica, created for the Havana Biennial.

Türkkan's project comprises a film coupled with a performance and installation created in collaboration with Cuban boxer Namibia Flores Rodríguez. The project was exhibited and performed as part of the 15th Havana Biennial – Shared Horizons, between November 15, 2024, and February 28, 2025, at the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wifredo Lam with SAHA's support. This work includes a new version of the Fight Like a Girl project developed and performed in collaboration with local participants, specifically for the Havana Biennial. At its core lies boxing, a discipline deeply rooted in Cuba’s history and social context.
